Posted in on 12:27 AM by alexagohI’ve been hooked with Korean dramas since I dont know when but this year has been great. First there was Kgutboda Namja aka Korean version of Meteor Garden, then there was Shining Inheritance, and then recently there’s You’re Beautiful. ![]()
The cast of You’re Beautiful was great.
Park Hye Shin did a really good job acting as a guy (and a girl at the same time)! I remember I use to hate her in Goong S because of her droopy big eyes and all princess-y and bitchy. But she totally nailed it this time in You’re Beautiful. I saw some Yoon Eun Hye from Goong in her too!
And then there was Jang Geun Suk. Oh dear. Jang Geun Suk from Beethoven Virus, the series I procrastinated watching until now (yes I even procrastinate in watching dramas). I’m going to say this again. Is there anything he can’t do? He plays the guitar, he sings, he dances and he acts perfectly. The character he plays, Hwang Tae Kyung reminds me of the character Goo Joon Pyo from Kgutboda Namja. Why didn’t he play Goo Joon Pyo in Kgutboda Namja?! I think he’ll do waaaaay better than Lee Min-Ho, who couldn't really bring out Goo Joon Pyo’s mean character! And his POUTS! I know many people died when he pouts, right? right? :D
There’s also pretty/romantic boy (a must have in any typical korean idol drama) Shin Woo, played by Jung Yung Hwa who’s only 19 (fhl). He ALSO reminds me of the character Ji Hoo, a pretty boy from Kgutboda Namja. The expressions Yung Hwa had were so similar to Ji Hoo that I can’t stop imagining he begged Kim Hyung Joong (who played Ji Hoo) for advises on how to play that similar character :D :D
The most entertaining character was Jeremy played by Lee Hong Ki from FTIsland. FTIsland’s fans must have gone wild watching him play the cute innocent character of Jeremy. Too cute! His expressions in the drama are priceless! :D :D
Besides the awesome cast, I was totally hooked on the series’s OST! :D :D :D All the songs are nice in the series and I mean ALL. I also like the non-existence boy band A.N.JELL. They actually had a mini concert in Seoul, a fictional boy band from drama series having a real concert, cool right? Well, part of the reason why I’m so hooked with the soundtrack is because most of the songs’ genre are power ballad. Gotta love ballad. =) Sharing three of my favourite,
Without A Word – Park Shin Hye
Still As Ever- A.N.JELL
Goodbye – Jang Geun Suk
Needless to say, the storyline was interesting as well. I wouldn’t say its awesome, its a korean idol drama what do you expect? But I think it is common yet interesting. I think the script writer did a good job in putting the common storyline of a normal girl getting a rich boyfriend into an interesting story, that is, using the whole behind-the-scene of a boy band idea. That’s what people always wanted to know isn’t it? What do idols do at home in their hostel with their band mates, how’s their relationship with their manager, their relationship with their make up artists, photographer, clients etc., most of all, their relationship with reporters and the media. After watching the dramas, I’m very sceptical about tabloids now because the idols and their company themselves can actually make use of the media to manipulate their news, and we the readers, will think that its true. Who knows maybe Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are not really together? haha!
Lastly, the most memorable thing about this drama is, they created a significant soft toy, which I foresee will sell like hot cakes (because I want one too :D :D :D). This soft toy is part of the story and its a PIG BUNNY! Annoying tueji toki!
Goong was the last drama that I’ve loved so much. After several years I thought nothing can beat Goong. Then came You’re Beautiful.

Posted in on 11:05 PM by alexagohThe last month of the year has finally arrived! Oh who doesn’t love December? :D
Its the time when people claim all their paid leaves from the company to plan a little getaway with their love ones, students get their holidays, the joyful Christmas season, and also embracing a brand new year.
I would like to think of December as a buffer from year to year. During this month, we reminiscence, review and reflect on what has happened and we look forward to embracing a whole new year. This year has been very rewarding generally.
I've departed my beloved homeland to pursue my degree in University of Queensland. With this, I've learned a lot and get to see life from a whole new perspective. This 8 months in Brisbane has thought me to broaden up my view on certain issues, making me open up to more people and also learning to be more independent and believe more in myself.
I'm also lucky to have met nice people who have taken care of me when I'm not well, have kept me company, have had fun with me and have also shared the most stressful season with me. I thank you all and I thank you all again for making my experience in Brisbane so wonderful.
Somewhere this year, I’ve also found back what I lost in year 2008. Miracle or not, not many people get second chances and I do truly cherish mine. ♥
Results just came out and I must say I am satisfied :D Will work harder next year to make the impossible possible. I will be going for a final interview tomorrow and hopefully I can have a brand new experience with the working adults even though it’ll take up half of my holiday.
Have a good December so that the year 2009 ends with a pretty full stop people!
with love,
from yours truly.

Lao Sai
Posted in thoughts on 2:19 PM by alexagohIf I were to talk to people closest to me, I'll straight away say "wei I lao sai ah fml need to go bomb the toilet first bai."
If I were to talk to people not that close to me, I'll say "wei I'm having stomach upset. I go toilet first. "
If I were to talk to people not close to me at all, I'll say "I'm not really feeling well, excuse me for a while."
Why? because people judge. and you know people closest to you love you for who you are no matter what you say.
